This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website and what rights you have. This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising services, does not load fonts or scripts from third-party servers, and does not set cookies for normal visitors.

2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, which processes data on my behalf. Every time a page is accessed, the server automatically records technical information that your browser transmits:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- page or file requested, amount of data transferred, HTTP status
- referrer URL (the page you came from)
- browser type and version, operating system
This data is required to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security and to detect misuse. It is not merged with other data and is deleted after a short period. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).
3. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by “https://” and the lock symbol in the browser), so that data you transmit cannot be read by third parties.
4. Security
To protect the website against attacks, the security software Wordfence runs on the web server. It analyses requests (including IP address, requested URL and browser information) to detect and block attacks and failed login attempts. Information about detected attacks, such as the IP address of the attacking system, may be transmitted to the provider Defiant, Inc., 800 5th Ave Ste 4100, Seattle, WA 98104, USA. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the security of the website).
5. Contact form and e-mail
If you send a message via the contact form, the data you enter (name, e-mail address, message) and the page from which you sent it are stored on the web server and forwarded to me by e-mail, so that I can answer your enquiry. The same applies if you write to me by e-mail. Your data is not passed on to third parties and is deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures (e.g. image licensing), otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
The form is protected against spam without any external service and without cookies: it checks locally whether it was filled in by a person. To limit mass submissions, a one-way encrypted (hashed) value derived from your IP address is kept for a maximum of 24 hours; the IP address itself is not stored for this purpose.
6. Comments
If you write a comment, your name, e-mail address, optional website, the comment text, the time and your IP address are stored. The e-mail address is not published. This data is used to publish and moderate comments and to be able to act in case of unlawful content. Comments and associated data are stored until you request their deletion. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent by submitting the comment) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing misuse).
Spam check (Akismet)
Comments are checked for spam by the service Akismet of Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA. For this purpose, the name, e-mail address, website, comment text, IP address and browser information are transmitted to Akismet. Automattic is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in protection against spam).
Comment cookies
If you tick the corresponding box when commenting, your name, e-mail address and website are stored in cookies in your browser for one year, so that you do not have to enter them again. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG. You can delete these cookies at any time in your browser.
7. Maps (OpenStreetMap)
For some photos and journeys, the location can be shown on a map. The map is loaded only when you click “Show on map” or the map button of a journey. Only then does your browser load map tiles from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom, which transmits your IP address to them. The European Commission has recognised an adequate level of data protection for the United Kingdom. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (your consent by clicking). The globe on the Journeys page and all other page elements are loaded exclusively from this web server.
8. Cookies
This website does not set cookies for normal visitors. Cookies are only used when you log in as a registered user (technically necessary for the login) or when you choose to have your comment details remembered (see section 6).
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal data processed by me (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
To exercise these rights, a short message to the e-mail address above is sufficient.
